Floating Stairs Leading to Second Level Home Office

Like many people as of recently, Russell found himself working from home and needing a home office. He wanted this space to feel separate from his normal everyday living area. He decided to build an extension on the second floor that overlooks the main living area without interrupting the flow of his home.

The Challenge

With his new office hanging over his living area, Russell needed a staircase that would allow easy access to it without taking away from the limited living space on the first floor. This is where he found Paragon and our floating staircases to be of favor in his situation. He could build a visually appealing staircase that still left plenty of room under and around it. It was also a bonus that his floating office could have a matching floating stair.

The Process

Russell was able to speak with one of our designers to create a custom stair that fit in perfectly with the design of his new office. After agreeing on the final designs the stairs were shipped directly to his home and he was able to get them installed right away, and now has an elegant stairway entrance to his new home office that will get plenty of use.

The Staircase Design

Russell chose the Haven Mono Stringer Floating Staircase as the perfect match for his floating office. The all metal stair features diamond plated treads with a raised pattern for both style and safety. The cable rail infill adds to the modern and industrial design of the stair. The thicker treads and cable rail also provide building code compliant design for Russels new floating staircase.

The Results

Part of the reason Russell was looking into a floating stair design was so that he could keep the current open feeling he had in his home. Even after installation, he was able to place seating under the stairs without it feeling like you were sitting inside a cubby. Russell’s goal was to create a stair that had little impact on his current home layout, and he was easily able to achieve that with his Paragon floating staircase.

Why Paragon?

Russell chose Paragon Stairs because he recognized the company’s expertise in maximizing space and customizing stair designs to fit specific needs. Collaborating closely with his designer, Russell embarked on a journey to create a staircase that would optimize his limited living space. Paragon’s unique process allowed him to visualize the stair in his actual space, ensuring that every inch was fully utilized. With their cutting-edge technology and attention to detail, Paragon Stairs enabled Russell to make informed decisions about the design, layout, and dimensions of the staircase. Ultimately, this meticulous approach helped Russell to transform his vision into a reality, achieving a custom stair that perfectly complemented his living space while providing maximum functionality to reach his office.
