Frank and his wife have been collecting art for many years. When they bought their home a year and a half ago they knew they wanted to showcase their art in a grand way. Replacing the original boring staircase was the first thing on their renovation to do list.
Frank Wanted a Statement Stair to Compliment His Art Collection
The Challenge
The first thing you see when entering Frank’s home is the staircase to the second level. He knew that design wise, these stairs would have a big impact on the flow and aesthetics of the house. And as an art collector Frank wasn’t going to settle for just any staircase, he wanted to find one that made a statement. After finding Paragon stairs Frank was happy to find out they sold high quality stairs at a very competitive price.
The Process
After talking to Jason at Paragon, Frank was very pleased to find out that he had a lot of say in how the stairs would look, thanks to Paragon’s customization process. Luckily, Frank already had a contractor he was working with so he was able to involve him in the process making the entire thing simple and seamless.
The Staircase Design
Frank decided on The Haven Mono Stringer Floating Staircase with white oak treads and stainless steel line rail. Between the butcher block treads and the line rail, the stair maximizes safety without sacrificing any of the sleek and modern style that comes with a floating stair. Frank also added additional line rail for the open space at the top of the stairs. The additional railing added to the premium design of the staircase and the space around it. The simplicity of the railing lets the railing shine.
The Results
As an art collector, Frank really wanted his entryway stairs to compliment the art as well as be able to stand alone as art itself. Deciding on a Paragon floating stair was a great way for him to achieve his vision. The floating stairs also kept a very open feeling which is replicated throughout the house, keeping the flow of the house the same.
